Pulau terbaik di Malaysia

Pulau Perhentian...

Perhentian Island or Pulau Perhentian - Lying just 18 kilometre  from Jertih Terengganu and 60 from Kota Bharu Kelantan  in Peninsular Malaysia. This beautiful island is famous among travelers for its soft sandy beaches and laid back lifestyle. Perhentian Island is accessible from the small fishing port of Kuala Besut, 25 minutes by speed boat or a leisurely 90 minute sea journey by colorful traditional boat.

Perhentian Island (also in malay, called Pulau Perhentian) comprises Pulau Perhentian Besar and Pulau Perhentian Kecil.Pulau Perhentian is a tropical paradise. Blessed with protected bays and emerald green waters, scuba diving is a breeze in both islands.

The islands are blessed with variety of hard and soft coral reefs of breathtaking majesty. Divers can also expect to see schools of surgeonfish, damsel fish, yellowtail barracuda, variety of fusiliers, butterfly fish, and hawksbill turtles, even white-tip and nurse sharks.

After less than an hour on a boat from the east coast of Malaysia, the laid-back atmosphere and the natural beauty of the Perhentian islands immediately transport you to a different world. The white sand is dotted with sun-worshipping holiday makers, some retreating to the shade for a glass of freshly squeezed juice. A group of scuba divers are boarding a boat to venture out into the turquoise waters and submerge themselves in the underwater wonderland. Later, as the sun sets, a quiet buzz of music and chatter fills the air, together with the thin wisp of smoke from the barbeque fire.

The Perhentian Islands are two islands named Pulau Perhentian Kecil (Small Perhentian Island) andPulau Perhentian Besar (Large Perhentian Island). The Malay name Perhentian is translated as “place to stop” and this is exactly what these two islands were for traders travelling between Malaysia and Bangkok in years gone by. These islands are still a gorgeous place to stop and rest today, albeit for tourists disconnecting from the stress and routine of everyday life and not for weary seafaring traders.

The islands remain relatively untouched and the only permanent inhabitants live in a small fishing village on Perhentian Kecil. Apart from footpaths that cut through the jungle, there are no roads on the islands. The only way to get around is by walking through the jungle or taking a sea taxi. If you tread carefully, you may even encounter some of the islands’ shy wildlife on the way, such as monitor lizards, fruit bats, squirrels or even the elusive mouse deer. Simple chalets and some moderately luxurious resorts line the picturesque beaches along with restaurants, dive centres and boat operators advertising their services with hand-painted signs.

Perhaps it is the stretches of white beach or the crystal clear water and the superior scuba diving. Perhaps it is the untouched forests or the relaxed atmosphere and unspoiled charm. We like to think that is a little bit of all of this that makes the Perhentian Islands the perfect place to stop and take some time out.

Pulau Redang...

Pulau Redang, situated 45km off the coast of Kuala Terengganu, is the largest of all Terengganu's islands. From the very first glance, Pulau Redang will enchant visitors with its compelling beauty. Its incredibly azure waters fringed by white sand, against the backdrop of verdant jungle-clad hills make picture-postcard views.
Pulau Redang archipelago comprises 9 islands, the Lima Island, Paku Besar Island, Paku Kecil Island, Kerengga Besar Island, Kerengga Kecil Island, Ekor Tebu Island, Ling Island, Pinang Island and Redang Island. This archipelago is abounds with marvelous marine fishes, turtles and coral reefs, ensuring a great snorkelling and scuba-diving experience. Redang Island which is approximately 7km in length 6km in width, is the largest of all other islands in the Marine Park.
Redand Island boasts two beautiful beaches, the Long Beach or locally known as Pasir Panjang, situated on the east coast and Teluk Dalam Kecil, a sheltered cove tucked away on the northeast of the island. Teluk Dalam Kecil is the location of the Berjaya Redang Beach Resort, a five-star accommodation on the island.
Streching over 800m, Pasir Panjang is a dream come true for sun-seekers. Here, underneath the clear blue sky, one can spend hours by basking in the sun, or strolling by the beach and feel the sensation of soft sand sinking under the feet. The beach is lined by a number of resorts overlooking the sea, offering various styles of accommodation.
A myriad of surprises await beneath the bewithchingly blue sea. The waters teem with a wealth of marine life and corals, and the good visibility makes it ideal for snorkelling and diving. At the Marine Park Centre friendly wrasses, sergeant majors and breams swarm around snorkellers. Divers can look forward to thrilling encounters with black-tip sharks. Rare giant clams and hawkshill turtles too have been sighted here.
Lang Tengah, a 30-minutes boat ride from Redang, is one of the state's best kept secrets. Located midway between the islands Redang and Perhentian, its sparkling white sand and aquamarine waters are simply irresistible. The varieties of hard and soft corals and prolife marine life here make it a perfect destination for divers.

Pulau Tioman...

Tioman Island (locally known as Gunung Daik Bercabang Tiga) is a small island located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang, and is some 39 km long and 12 km wide. It has eight main villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek in the north. The densely forested island is sparsely inhabited, and is surrounded by numerous coral reefs, making it a popular scuba diving spot. There are also a lot of resorts and chalets around the island which has duty free status. Its beaches were depicted in the 1958 movie, South Pacific as Bali Hai. In the 1970s, TIME Magazine selected Tioman as one of the world's most beautiful islands.

Apart from its diverse marine life, the inland rainforest area, encompassing approximately 12,383 hectares, in Tioman is a strictly enforced nature reserve. There are several protected species of mammals on the island, including the Binturong, Long-tailed Macaque, Slow Loris, Black Giant Squirrel, Red Giant Flying Squirrel, Mouse deer, Brush-tailed Porcupine, and Common Palm Civet, from a total of 45 species of mammals and 138 species of birds, including the majestic Frigatebird.

Moreover, Tioman has species that are endemic to its shores. The soft-shelled turtle and the Tioman walking catfish are both unique and can be seen on rainforest walks

Tioman Island was the first discovered by Chinese and Arabs seafarers and traders around thousand years ago. Tioman was named one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.Today ,its one of the best locations along the East Coast of Penisular Malaysia to dive, snorkel or just relax and enjoy the tranquility of the sea and the beaches. It is one of the hot spots for scuba diving with some 20 dive sites all located within less than 30 minute boat ride from the main villages such Salang Bay and Ayer Batang.

Tioman lies in the South China Sea,just on the edge of the famous coral triangle where most species of coral, fish and other marine life are found. The underwater scenery is made out of large granite boulders, densely covered in soft corals, hards corals and gorgonian sea fans.If you go beyond 20 meters deep often encompass the rare black corals as well. These rock formations and corals gardens are a perfect nursery ground for an abundance of fish species which themselves again attract predators such as barracudas, travellies and even sharks. Sea turtles are seen on some 70% for all dives and there is not a dive where you
don't find amazing macro creatures such as colorful nudibranchs.

For those with deeper thoughts some amazing World War II wrecks such as the famous British battleship HMS Repulse are waiting some 46 nautical miles north of Tioman Island. Those wrecks however lie in waters of 55 meters and beyond and are therefore reserved for divers with technical diving certification and experince.

Pulau Kapas...

Only 6 km lying in front of Marang jetty, Kapas Island is visible from Marang all weather. It probably inherited its name from its white powdery beaches which looked like 'kapas' or cotton as symbols of paradise on earth. Like Lang Tengah, Kapas Island is not a big island. Pioneering in the industry, the people of Marang has been taking visitors to the island long before any development exists on other islands in Terengganu because of being an island with a close distance with the mainland, this island is more accessible than the rest. Moreover the long development history background, has granted it an advantage in the industry.

There are plenty of choices for accommodation on the island, ranging from camping site, guesthouse, bed and breakfast, chalet and resorts etc., mainly run by the villagers in Marang. Resulted from the price competition in addition to the easy accessibility, it is always the chosen destination for backpackers or free independent travelers.According to the local, there are the famous song bird – Murai Batu / White-rumped shama (Copsychus malabaricus) on the island. This song bird is reputed has 23 different and equal beautiful melodies in its repertoire. If this is true, in addition to the palm trees which are standing on the sandy beach, waving their leaves in the wind, both making the laid-back atmosphere another favourite retreat.

For those who want to soothe their frazzled nerves, and rejuvenate, there is nothing more pleasant than contemplating the future from the comforts of your hammock and to the music of the ocean. But if you are the get-up-and-go type, then it is the sun, sand, sea and snorkeling for you The water is warm and crystal clear, the beach private and secluded. Snorkeling, diving and swimming, wind surfying, kayaking etc. can never be excluded in the itinery when you are on an island.

If you are a crazy with diving, Kapas Island is a good place for diving. A WWII shipwreck located 5 nautical miles offshore is the key attraction to divers. The popular and favourite diving spot for diver is the outer reefs on her seaward. To add to this, several illegal fishing boats from Thailand that sunk here has become the artifical reefs for the underwater world.

Also due to the close distance with the mainland, sand on the beach here are not as fine as other neighbouring islands. Anyhow, this doesn’t restrict you from doing some beach activities like beach volley ball. However, have to bear in mind that, there are sand flies which will leave some ‘souvenir’ on your uncovered skin.

If you arrive on the island during squid jigging season (May-August), a very special activity can be arranged through the chalets as to fill your time in the evening.Squid jigging is carried out on very specialised boats at night. Powerful lights illuminate the water, attracting the squid which gather in the shaded area under the boat. Let your jig drop into the water and start by jerking the rod up to about 3 feel. After you have pulled it up let it drop slowly and repeat this action occasionally. Squid bite as the jig falls and the bites are very subtle. You need to pay high attention to its bites. Set the hook by pulling your rod up real fast, but remember you are not fishing for a big tuna fish here, so don't jerk with all your strength unless you want your squid jig come flying out of the water and snag the person next to you. A gentle jerk will do.

Black ink will be squirted out when you raise them out of the water. When fishing is slow it's great fun to aim the squid to squirt someone else, hehe. If someone does pay you back don't worry though, the ink does not stain

Squid run in schools, if you see someone near you suddenly start catching squid start paying careful attention to your own rod. Once you catch one, quickly get the squid off the hook then throw your line the water again for the next jigging before the school swims away. Then when you come back from your jigging trip, perhaps you can have fresh squib seasoned with your sashimi or just sotong goreng….What a wonderful experience.
